CERTIFICATION / BRONZE
The objective of the Bronze Certification program is to develop and train in-company propagators of the Lean concept in organizations interested in improving their performance indicators, such as quality, safety, productivity, delivery, etc.
By the end of the program, the participants will be able to:
- Identify opportunities for the application of the main concepts and tools of Lean;
- Design, plan and implement Lean Production Systems;
- Define the best strategy for implementing Lean in their organization.
INTRODUCTION TO LEAN
Provides an overview of the nature of Lean Thinking, its principles and main tools (Value Stream Mapping; Continuous Flow; Standardized Work; Pull Production and Kanban; 5S and Visual Management; and TPM). One of the objectives of this module is to discuss possible implementation strategies and understand those that best apply to each different type of organization.
Course load: 8 hours
VALUE STREAM MAPPING
This uncomplicated tool allows identifying waste generated in a value chain. A properly developed current status map combined with a sound understanding of Lean and its tools allow preparing a future status map, which will make the value chain more efficient. It will become clear to the participants that it is the implementation of improvements in the value chain that will bring results, not just the preparation of the map.
Course load: 16 hours
CREATION OF CONTINUOUS FLOW (MANUFACTURING CELLS)
One of the principles of Lean, Continuous Flow reduces or eliminates waste in activities such as moving, transporting, storing and holding. With the creation of ContinuousFlow, defects will be detected more quickly. The resulting reduction in lead times causes significant improvements in the delivery performance for customers. In addition, when waste is reduced or eliminated, productivity rises and costs fall.
Course load: 16 hours
STANDARDIZED WORK
Standardized Work is part of an effort to stabilize production processes by reducing variation. The establishment of a standardized sequence of work with the purpose of eliminating waste is based on the operators’ specific jobs and motions. This module is designed to enable the participants to implement Standard Work Procedures. It includes the development of work sequences, the supporting documentation, and the supporting framework for an effective implementation.
Course load: 8 hours
PULL PRODUCTION AND PRODUCTION LEVELING
Pull Production sets a product inventory pattern based on the organization’s specific production and consumption characteristics. Thereby, its production ceases to be controlled by forecast, but will instead be controlled by actual consumption. Pull Production eliminates overproduction, which, according to Toyota, is the biggest source of waste.
Course load: 16 hours
5S & VISUAL MANAGEMENT
In order to reduce costs and become more competitive, companies should attempt to eliminate every type of waste. The objective of 5S and Visual Management is to create an environment in which people will learn and embrace a sense of conscientious utilization, organization, cleanliness, standardization and self-discipline, so as to increase their productivity both in the production and the office.
Course load: 8 hours
TPM - TOTAL PRODUCTIVE MAINTENANCE
By means of simple actions taken in conjunction with technical activities and operator involvement, Autonomous Maintenance promotes increased stability and the general efficiency of the system, in addition to a real physical and behavioral revolution in the work environment. During this training, the participants will learn the differences between preventive, corrective and autonomous maintenance, as well as the autonomous maintenance implementation stages.
Course load: 8 hours
SETUP
The chief benefit provided by a Quick Setup is lot size reduction, which may increase both the flexibility and rate of use of equipment. This training is intended to provide an understanding of Setup concepts and enable the participants to apply this technique at the factory-floor level.
