CERTIFICATION / SILVER
This is given to complement the Bronze Certification. The Silver Certification Program’s chief purpose is to train and explore more fully the concepts related to Logistics, Quality and Six Sigma, by applying Lean tools to practical cases. By the end of the program, the participants will be able to:
- Identify opportunities for the application of other Lean concepts and tools;
- Design, plan and implement Lean Production Systems;
- Define the best strategy for implementing Lean in their organization.
IMPROVEMENT MODEL – DMAIC
DMAIC is a process that uses data for continuous improvement. It consists of a series of stepwise procedures that includes: Definition, Measurement, Analysis, Improvement and Control. The course enables the participants to develop consistent and lasting improvements by applying an improvement model and evaluating the results with the aid of statistical analysis, which is taught and applied in a practical manner.
Course load: 24 hours
MANAGEMENT – LEAN INDICATORS
Lean Indicators are measures of functions, which indicates the performance of Lean concepts in the company. It is crucially important that company management understands how the indicators can assist the implementation of these concepts.
Course load: 8 hours
POKA-YOKE
Poka-yoke is a method for developing tools, techniques and/or processes to prevent or detect errors. The objective of this training is to develop the idea of permanent struggle for zero defects. This means searching for and finding the root cause of the problem, neutralizing it in a simple and effective manner and, ultimately, eliminating it from the process.
Course load: 8 hours
LEAN LOGISTICS
Several sources of waste are eliminated with the introduction of Continuous Flow. The objective of this training is to teach, in simple language, how to create a management system for purchased components in the value chain to support Continuous Flow. This is done by reorganizing the storage of materials, creating a better supply system, and calculating routes and resources, among other actions.
Course load: 8 hours
PULL PRODUCTION INVOLVING SUPPLIERS
Continuous Flow on- and off-site is one of Lean’s major objectives. Pull Production is intended to eliminate the most important source of waste – overproduction. The participants will learn how to effect Pull Production both internally and with their suppliers, thus extending the Lean concept to other stages in the production value chain.
Course load: 24 hours
LEAN OFFICE
Certain critical Lean elements are, as a rule, scarcely explored in administrative areas. Lean Office is the tool that connects the strategic objectives of the business with the daily work in the company. This training will enable participants to discern administrative processes, identify the sources of waste, and design future conditions for these processes in accordance with Lean Principles. The resulting support processes will show high productivity, low rework levels, and quickness of response, which will enable them to support the value stream effectively.
Course load: 16 hours
VALUE STREAM MAPPING IN COMPLEX ENVIRONMENTS
The objective of this course is to give participants the required skills to Map a Value Stream for conditions of variations in demand and shared resources, by unveiling opportunities to improve the flow of materials and information, and concentrating on gains from a leveled demand.
Course load: 8 hours
BASIC STABILITY
Stability, like 5S and Leveled Production, is the basis for the implementation of the Toyota Production System. With this training, the participants will become aware of the importance of Stability for the implementation of Lean, and will learn how to eliminate the causes of instability in Machines, Labor, Materials and Methods.
